What is Psychic Phenomenon?

The internet describes it as: “phenomena that appear to contradict physical laws and suggest the possibility of causation by mental processes.” or “phenomena lying outside the sphere of physical science or knowledge.”

So, in layman’s terms, psychic phenomena are abilities and/or practises that do not comply with known laws of physics and deal with the metaphysical.

*Metaphysics is “a branch of philosophy that deals with the first principles of things, including abstract concepts such as being, knowing, identity, time, and space.”

How To Hold a Seance

A séance is an event that can either be fantastic, or a real mess. Which one it is will depend on how much preparation goes into it. With a little bit of planning and thought ahead of time, you can pave the way for your séance to go smoothly. Certainly, it’s a good idea to expect the unexpected — after all, the dead are hardly predictable — but by setting yourself a few guidelines in advance, you can make sure that everyone has the best experience possible.

Figure out how many people you’re going to have — and make sure the space you’re using will allow them all. If your living room only seats eight people comfortably, don’t invite fifteen! Also, be sure that everyone attending is open-minded to the spirit world. People who are adamantly “non-believers” bring a certain amount of negative energy, and this can be disruptive. You may also find that it adversely effects your communication with the spirits during your séance. On the other hand, someone who swears that séances are just a bunch of trickery and mumbo-jumbo may find themselves surprised by their experience. Whether you invite these folks in is entirely up to you and your guests, and what makes you the most comfortable.

2. Create a Spirit-Friendly Atmosphere
Most people like to conduct a séance at a round or oval table, but if neither is available, don’t worry. Drape the table with fabric or sheets — some people prefer light colors to attract “friendly” spirits, but it’s a matter or personal preference. If you use incense, be sure that no one in your group is allergic to it. Place incense somewhere away from the table, rather than on the table itself. Candles are a nice addition as well — not only do they provide some visibility, but there’s a school of thought that believes spirits are attracted to heat and light sources.

3. Common Sense
Help everyone get comfortable by offering refreshments before you begin. Make sure that guests will be respectful of the spirits, and of other guests. Turn off all cell phones. If anyone needs to go to the bathroom or have a smoke, do so before you begin. Set the thermostat at a comfortable temperature — remember that spirit activity can cause some fluctuation in levels of cold or heat. Once everyone is seated, you can help everyone relax by doing a short guided mediation, offering a prayer, or casting a protective circle, if your tradition requires you to do so.

4. During the Seance
Although many people like to do this, you don’t have to hold hands to raise energy. In fact, if a séance goes on too long, it can get downright uncomfortable. Whoever is acting as the leader of the séance — the medium — should ask the spirits to join the group. If there is a specific spirit you are trying to contact, ask for them by name. For example, now would be the time to say, “Dear Auntie Gertrude, we respectfully ask that you honor us with your presence this evening.” In some séances, spirits are summoned by chanting — this will be up to your medium to decide on.

As long as the spirits seem willing to reply, you can carry on a question and answer session with them. Bear in mind that spirits respond in many different ways. Sometimes there will be a tangible reaction — a tap, a thump, a soft breeze. Other times — particularly if you have a room full of very psychically gifted people — the spirit may choose to respond through another person. This may be the medium, or it could be any other guest. The individual may simply “get a message” to pass along, which they would then share, such as, “Your Auntie Gertrude wants you to know she isn’t in pain any more.”

Sometimes, particularly if you have a group of psychically gifted individuals as guests, you may get several spirits arriving all at once, chattering away. This is not cause for alarm, but it does take some managing, because they’ve all got something to say. Treat it like you would any other conversation with a large group of people — let each spirit get their turn to deliver the message they came with, and then move on to the next one. Also, bear in mind that not all spirits are from departed humans — deceased pets may also have a message to pass along.

You may also find that you want to use some sort of divination tools during your séance. Using a pendulum, Tarot cards, automatic writing, or even a Ouija board are all common ways to invite the spirits into your séance circle.

What About Unwanted Entities?
Just like at any other party, sometimes a séance will bring an uninvited guest. In this case, when you have a spirit that seems malevolent or mischievous, someone needs to let them know they’re unwelcome. Typically, this will be the medium who is leading the séance, who will usually say something like, “You are not wanted here, but we thank you for your presence. Now it is time for you to move on.”

If an entity arrives that seems angry or hostile and will not leave, no matter what you do, end the séance. It’s possible that it’s been attracted to someone in your group who may have underlying issues.

5. Closing the Door
When you’re done with the séance, it’s important that guests thank the spirits for coming to visit. After all, you would do so if you had living guests drop in!

If one of your attendees seems to have slipped into a trance or a sleep-like state during the séance, allow them to return gradually, on their own. Do NOT shake them awake. Chances are they’ll have a message for someone once they’re back among the group.

Close the séance by telling the spirits farewell, thanking them, and asking them to move along. You may want to offer a small blessing or prayer as a way of ending the formal séance, but bear in mind that some spirits like to hang around after the séance has officially finished. If they do, it’s okay. They’re probably just curious, and they may return to visit you later in the evening during a dream sequence.

Additional Tips
Before you begin your seance, smudge the area with sage or sweetgrass for ritual cleansing.
Make sure you’ve eliminated potential distractions, such as children or ringing telephones. Interestingly, many pets seem to come and go through spirit activity without causing any disruption. Cats in particular tend to be very curious about what’s going on, and have been known to make themselves right at home in the middle of spirit work.
Your guests may wish to bring an object that belonged to a deceased person, as a way of strengthening the connection. Photographs are also good links to the dead.

While the Moon definitely affects the emotions, there’s another area that She
impacts just as strongly, and that, of course, is the psyche. I never realized just
how true this was until an uncomfortable situation with one of my friendsa
woman with an overwhelming amount of psychic ability-presented itself early
one morning at Full Moon.
She’d arrived in tears and was desperate for some sort of relief. She said
she’d always been a little spacey and had learned to deal with it, but what was
happening now was entirely different. Things were out of control. Her whole life
seemed to have whirled into a constant flash of kaleidoscopic images,
fragmented sounds, and tidbits of information she didn’t understand. Not only
could she not stop it, she couldn’t even slow it down. In fact, things had become
so bad that she couldn’t even manage one solid thought. Not being able to live
like that any longer, she’d come to me for help.
At first, I missed the point. I suggested that she remove her silver jewelry,
but it didn’t help. We tried grounding and centering. It didn’t work. I led her
through guided meditations, relaxation exercises, and everything else I could
think of, all to no avail. She simply could not focus, not even while holding a
hematite in her hand.
I was dumbfounded. In all my years in the Craft, there had never been
something I couldn’t fix. I knew that every problem, no matter how big or small,
had an equally powerful solution. It was just a matter of looking at the problem
from every angle and refusing to ignore any detail. With that in mind, I sat down
to think. Sure enough, both the problem and its solution eventually became
crystal clear.
Her emotional responses, the very things I’d been focusing on, really had
little to do with the actual problem. In fact, they were nothing more than a
byproduct of the real issue. This woman was not only an empath, but had
amazingly powerful psychic centers, the latter of which grabbed data in much
the same way that a magnet draws nails. And even though she’d reached the
capacity to contain it all, those informational tidbits just kept coming-fast and
furious, increasing in number and size-until she’d gone on overload.
Why this had never happened to her before is anybody’s guess, but what I
did learn is this: The amount of data flowing to the psychic centers and the rate
of speed at which it travels increases in direct proportion to the size of the Moon.
This means that the more the Moon grows, the more information we receive. It
just keeps flowing in, steady and constant, until the Full Moon has come and
Once the Moon begins to wane, so does the influx of information. It’s
almost as if the psychic centers close their doors and refuse to admit anything
but the most urgent messages. Things dwindle to a slow crawl until the
transmissions stop completely. Then the whole collection just sits there in
storage and waits until we’re ready to access, process, and sort through it. This
usually occurs at the dark of the Moon.
This isn’t to say that we can never access psychic information before the
Moon is dark, though; nothing could be further from the truth. Messages that are
vitally important to our existence or someone else’s always push through to the
surface; it’s just that the psyche isn’t able to fully process everything at once.
There must be some time to regroup and regenerate-a settling down period, if
you will. And that’s exactly what the Dark Moon provides.
For most of us, this isn’t a problem. In fact, we’re often completely unaware
of the process. This isn’t true for everyone, though, and for those few, it can
present more than just a minor aggravation. The inability to regroup and
regenerate can result in loss of sleep, poor health, and severe depression. But
that’s not all. It can also make it extremely difficult to separate reality from
fantasy. And that’s just no way to live-especially for the magical practitioner.
So what do we do? Is there any way to keep an overflow of psychic
messages from sending us off the deep end? More to the point, can we prevent
the overload entirely? Absolutely. And it’s not as difficult as you may think.
Of course, the best time to handle any situation is before it gets out of
control, and since psychic overload is no exception, you may want to perform
the following ritual before the Moon begins to wax again. That way, you can
stop the problem before it ever gets started.
But what if it’s too late for that? What if things are already running amuck?
What then? Not to worry. Just do the ritual anyway. Even though you may not be
able to fully ground, or even completely relax, it will drain the excess psychic
energy so you can get through to Dark Moon. Once it arrives, just perform the
ritual again and your problems with psycho-babble will be a thing of the past.

1 white candle
1 small piece of hematite
Nagchampa, sandalwood, or dragon’s blood incense
Begin by lighting the incense and the candle, then pick up the stone and hold it
in your dominant hand. Stand with your feet apart, and raise your arms until they
are even with your shoulders, forming a star. With the left palm up and the right
palm facing the floor, breathe in the grounding energy of the Earth and exhale
any scattered energy through your mouth. Continue to breathe in this fashion
until you’re totally relaxed. (Three to four breaths usually does the trick.)
Visualize a small opening in your back at the same height as your navel. The
opening doesn’t hurt or bleed or keep your body from functioning in any way;
it’s simply there as a safety valve to release psychic overflow should it occur.
Once the image is firmly fixed in your mind’s eye, focus on the candle and
its light. Feel the light beginning to flow through you and say something like:

Place the stone in front of the candle and leave it until the flame burns out, then
carry the stone with you on a constant basis.
While psychic control is enough of a problem to warrant its inclusion here, it
may never cross your path. In fact, your predicament may be just the opposite. It
may be that you want to develop your psychic skills more than anything else in
the world, but no matter what you do the messages simply refuse to come.
This can be disconcerting, to say the least, especially when everyone else
around you seems to be receiving more messages than they care to deal with.
After a while, you may even start to think there’s something wrong with you.
Feelings of inadequacy set in. Anxiety takes over. And before you know it, your
mind is so filled with garbage that you wouldn’t even recognize your own name
if someone screamed it in your ear. If this sounds familiar, I have three words for
Stop right there.
To start with, there’s nothing wrong with you, and beating yourself up with
imagined failure isn’t going to fix things. In fact, it could be that you’re already
receiving psychic messages but just don’t know it because psychic information
doesn’t necessarily arrive in the form we imagine. It seldom comes in some
mysterious voice that echoes in the back of the brain. Instead, it’s more like a
fleeting thought, so we usually just brush it aside and go about our business.
If you’re already paying attention to your inner voice, though, there could
be other problems. For one thing, your psychic centers may be clogged. It’s also
possible that you’re so grounded you simply don’t hear anything other than
messages relating to the mundane. If you suspect that one of these issues is the
culprit, just try the ritual outlined below. It will not only open the channels, but
will put you well on the way to developing those skills you only dreamed of.
Psychic Centers Opening Ritual
1 purple candle
1 teaspoon dried mugwort or powdered cinnamon
1 small piece of clear quartz, opal, or orange calcite
Nagchampa, sandalwood, or dragon’s blood incense Vegetable oil
Begin by anointing the candle with the oil and rolling it in the mugwort or
cinnamon. Light the candle and the incense, then ground and center by breathing
in the grounding energy of the Earth and exhaling all other energy through your
mouth. Continue to breathe in this fashion until you’re totally relaxed. Hold the
stone to your Third Eye (the spot between your eyebrows) and visualize it as
being the key that opens your psychic centers. See it turn in the lock and watch
the doors swing open.
Place the stone in front of the candle, then stand with your feet apart and
your arms raised even with your shoulders to form a star. With the left palm up
and the right palm facing the floor, continue to breathe in through your mouth
and out through your nose for three or four more breaths. Then visualize your
psychic centers in perfect working order-receiving and processing messages-and
say something like:

Psychic centers open wide, So messages can flow inside, Give them a voice that I can hear, Let them ring loud and clear, But let them come through gradually,  No more than my capacity, to understand and handle all, The messages that come to call, And safety valve, to open too, so physic overflow won’t stew, And grow into anxiety, AsI will so mote it be.

Leave the stone in front of the candle until the wick extinguishes itself. Place the
stone in a safe place and use it whenever you need a link to the psychic world.

What is A Psychic Attack?

A spiritual or psychic attack is when someone intentionally sends negative energy your way.

All that’s really required is for someone to think negative thoughts or wish you ill for that energy to affect you – it’s the force and intent behind that energy that determines how powerful it is.

People who unknowingly send psychic attacks usually don’t know how to process their emotions whenever they feel hurt by someone, so they wish a world of hurt on that person in return and don’t always mean it.

This isn’t to say that psychic attacks can’t be willingly sent – they certainly can, and people that are spiritually experienced can wield them easily.

Curses and psychic attacks are common in cultures where black magic is practiced.

Not every bad event is the result of a psychic attack – it could also be a simple coincidence or the result of a path you’ve chosen.

Knowing the difference will go a long way in protecting yourself, so it’s important to learn how to identify an actual spiritual attack.

The key difference is in the frequency of these bad events – how often they occur and the time between them.

A streak of mishaps and negative feelings popping up out of the blue, one after another, without an obvious idea of the cause is likely a psychic attack.

Psychic attacks are real, but you can limit their effects or avoid them entirely.

Remember, such attacks are energy-based, and a great way to prevent them is by filling and surrounding yourself with love and positive energy.

That way, you’re not only protecting yourself from spiritual attacks, but you’re also protecting others from any attacks you might subconsciously send.

How to Protect Yourself From Psychic Attacks Now that you know how to identify a psychic attack, you’ve already taken the first step towards protecting yourself.

You can protect yourself from spiritual attacks yourself.

Try to get in tune with the spiritual realm through meditation and prayers – anything to affirm your strength and self-defense mechanisms.

Crystals, gemstones, and oils can also help cleanse your aura and space, ensuring you’re surrounded by positive energy.

And because most psychic attacks are sent unconsciously, you can approach your attacker to make peace.

Remember that most attackers have a difficult time processing their emotions, so all that may be needed is to help them get closure, or in some cases make amends – even if you’re not really in the wrong.

But if a psychic attack is intentional, or from someone who insists on holding on to their negative thoughts, then stay far away from that person.

In such a case, your best bet would be to consult your angels and spirit guides to protect you and fight for you.

Symptoms of a Psychic Attack

Below are a few of the many examples of what can be experienced by a psychic attack

Having nightmares: Having frightening and unpleasant dreams

Seeing the attacker front and center: Seeing the attacker in a devilish way, either in dreams, meditations, or thoughts

Experiencing fatigue: Feeling tired and depleted of energy constantly, for no reason

Feeling pain: Having aches in the same place and time on a regular basis

Feeling weakness: Experiencing illness or pains in areas of weakness that the attacker is aware of

Being lethargic: Experiencing a lack of concentration and laziness regarding daily tasks

Having severe headaches: Having unusually painful headaches accompanied by vomiting or dizziness

Feeling doubtful: Questioning or doubting direction in life, even after having been aware of direction beforehand

Sensing being watched: Having the feeling of being watched and seeing shadows from the corner of the eye, even when alone

Feeling suicidal: Having feelings similar to a heart attack or the desire to commit suicide

Guarding Against Psychic Attacks

Feeling protected from psychic attacks is important.

If you’re experiencing symptoms becoming aware of the psychic attack, through identification of the unusual events taking place, may help to diminish the effect of the attack.

Ask for guidance: Ask a spirit guide or guardian angel to help stop the attack and create protection.

Refrain from mirroring the attacker’s actions: Avoid sending similar energies or thoughts to the attacker.

Send loving thoughts: The attacker is the weaker one. Instead of returning thoughts of anger, hate, or fear, feel compassion toward the attacker. This type of light, love, and blessings can help the attacker see and heal their darkness.

Every time the attacker comes into your mind, imagine you are showering the attacker with the pure light of the universe.

Change the way light is sent by imagining it being sent in different ways.

Keep protection around you.

Be strong: The most important way to stay safe from the effect of a psychic attack is to be emotionally strong and stable.

Identify your emotional issues and fears with the goal to heal them.

This protection keeps the absorption and effects of negative energies to a minimum.

Reasons for a Psychic Attack

There are many motivations that may make someone perform a Psychic Attack of some kind on another person.

These may include the following.

The person performing the Psychic Attack may be jealous. An example is the victim’s life may be progressing whilst the attacker’s life remains stagnant.

The person performing the Psychic Attack may be envious of the victim’s looks.

The person performing the Psychic Attack may be envious of the victim’s career.

The person performing the Psychic Attack may be envious of the victim’s Partner.

The person performing the Psychic Attack may be envious of the victim’s environment.

The person performing the Psychic Attack may be living on their dark side at the moment.

The person performing the Psychic Attack may lack self-conviction and is living in fear.

It is theorized that when negative energy is consciously sent to someone with the intention of inflicting harm, then what is sent is exactly what will be attracted by the sender.

The universal law of karma can at times state that what goes around comes back around, multiplied.
